Camins de l'Ebre
Camins de l’Ebre is a cycling initiative open to everyone, designed for exploring and experiencing the Terres de l’Ebre, Matarranya, and Tinença de Benifassà regions at one’s own pace, all year round. It stems from a passion for the territory and for discovery, with the aim of opening up these routes, connecting landscapes and people, and showcasing the immense diversity of cycling experiences the area has to offer.
The routes, designed for Gravel & MTB and Road, cross places of great natural and cultural wealth, and go through practically all the towns in the territory. Along the way, cyclists will be able to enter three exceptional natural spaces:

Camins de l’Ebre also wants to be a meeting point between cycling and local life, promoting synergies with the agents who bring life to the territory: hotels, restaurants, workshops, transport agencies, shops and local projects. The aim is to strengthen the circular economy and make cycling an engine of sustainable dynamism.
It is a living project, which will continue to grow and adapt with a respectful look towards the environment and people.
Territory
Camins de l’Ebre is much more than a cycling route: it is a gateway to a diverse territory full of contrasts, where nature, history and local life go hand in hand throughout the year, favored by a mild climate and ideal for cycling in any season.
In the south of Catalonia, the Ebro Delta opens up as one of the most important deltas in the Mediterranean, a mosaic of rice paddies, lagoons and wild beaches that is home to exceptional biodiversity. Flamingos, migratory birds and a unique flora coexist in a changing landscape, also marked by a traditional architecture linked to water, rice and fishing. It is a territory that is lived calmly, also at the table, with a gastronomy rooted in local produce and the character of the Delta.
From here, the paths head towards the Serra de Cardó, with its historic seaside resort and a steep relief that invites you to cycle through Mediterranean forests, isolated farms and spectacular panoramas. A space where silence and nature set the pace.
The Ebro River, backbone of the territory, accompanies the route in many sections, connecting towns, fields and traditions with its constant presence. On its edge, the Via Verda de la Val de Zafán offers a quiet route full of railway history, today recovered for cyclists and travelers who want to discover the territory without rushing.
The journey continues towards the Natural Park of the Ports, a wild and imposing space, with steep massifs, emblematic fauna such as the Hispanic goat and large forests that change color with the seasons. Here, the challenge of climbing to the top of Mont Caro, the roof of the Terres de l’Ebre, becomes a memorable experience, with privileged views over the Mediterranean.
Crossing the natural border, the routes enter Matarranya, a region of medieval charm, with stone villages, porticoed squares and a strong cultural identity. The Algars and Matarranya rivers bring freshness and life to their agricultural landscapes, where time seems to move at a different pace and traditions are still part of everyday life.
From here, the ride reaches the Natural Park of Tinença de Benifassà, a wild and lonely mountain area, with lush forests, deep valleys and small towns that preserve an austere and authentic architecture, witness to an ancestral relationship with the environment.
And always, at the bottom or at the end of the road, the Mediterranean Sea reminds us of the connection of this territory with water, light and the infinite horizon that accompanies it.
Camins de l’Ebre collects all these landscapes, flavors, traditions and ways of living, and unites them in a unique experience: pedaling through a land that surprises at every turn and invites you to come back again and again.
